Refund & Return Policy

Quick Summary

  • Custom-filled paints: return within 14 days (covered by our no-quibble replacement policy if a verified fault is ours).

  • Off-the-shelf products: return within 28 days if unused and in resalable condition. A fair-use first test is allowed for items such as pre-packed paints and primers.

  • Damaged or incorrect orders: notify us within 7 days and we’ll arrange a free replacement or refund.

  • Non-returnable items: products that have been fully used or worn, except where returned due to a verified manufacturing fault or supply error.

We supply two main types of products

  • Custom-filled paints: Aerosols & tinned paints mixed to your chosen colour code, type and finish.

  • Off-the-shelf products: ready-made items supplied exactly as manufactured, with no mixing or colour-matching (e.g., primers, lacquers, thinners, PPE, tools, accessories, and standard pre-packed paints).

Returns Timeframe

  • Custom-filled paints: Refunds or exchanges are available within 14 days of purchase. These are covered by our no-quibble replacement policy where we confirm a verified fault is ours.

  • Off-the-shelf products: Refunds or exchanges are available within 28 days of purchase, provided the items are unused, in their original packaging, and in resealeable condition. For certain products such as pre-packed paints and primers, we allow a small fair-use test (e.g., a light spray-out).

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect:

  1. Contact customer services within 7 days of delivery.

  2. Provide your order number, details of the issue, and where possible, photographs.

  3. We will arrange a replacement or refund at no extra cost.

How to Request a Return

  1. Email us at customerservice@yourspraypaints.com with your order number and reason for return.

  2. We will confirm if your return is eligible and provide the correct return address and reference number. Please note: items returned without the correct reference number will not be accepted.

  3. Package items securely — they must be unused, in original packaging, and in resalable condition, were possible.

  4. Send via a tracked courier service (unless we have agreed to cover return postage, e.g., for faulty or damaged goods).

  5. Once received and inspected, refunds or exchanges are processed within 5–7 working days.

Non-Returnable Items

We will always act fairly where faults are proven. However, for safety, hygiene, and resale reasons, we cannot accept returns of:

  • Products that have been used or part-used, except where a small amount (up to 10%) has been used for testing in the case of a suspected fault.

  • Aerosols or paints that have been opened and used, unless returned for inspection due to a confirmed manufacturing fault.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and respirators etc., once worn or used. PPE may, however, be returned if it is faulty, defective, or supplied in the wrong size/model.

  • Items not in their original packaging.

Common Issues & Troubleshooting

Colour Shade Concerns

  • All paints are mixed using verified industry swatches under British Standard guidelines.

  • Colour differences can occur due to digital images, user preparation, or incorrect application.

  • Please ensure aerosols are shaken and mixed thoroughly before use (see our Mixing Guide Video).

Spray/Nozzle Issues
If an aerosol is not correctly mixed before use, you may occasionally experience a spraying issue. This can result in either a partial or full nozzle blockage. Please see our helpful guide and video for step-by-step advice on overcoming this.

To keep any remaining paint for up to 24 months, you must clear the nozzle and valve after use:

  1. Turn the aerosol upside down and count slowly to 30 seconds.

  2. Press the nozzle while the can remains upside down for up to 7 seconds, or until the spray runs clear.

  3. Wipe the nozzle clean and replace the cap securely.

We do not supply spare nozzles with standard orders, as each product is prepared and tested carefully. However, if you do experience a blocked nozzle and do not have spares, you can purchase a pack of replacement nozzles from our store.

Return Shipping & Inspections

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping unless a fault or error is confirmed.

  • If no fault is found and you wish the product to be returned to you, a re-delivery fee will apply.

  • Returned items are held for 30 days from receipt before being recycled in accordance with UK law.

The Legal Blurb

For customers who wish to know the exact legal position under UK law:

  • Custom-made or personalised goods (such as custom-filled spray paints) are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Retailers are not legally obliged to accept returns unless the goods are faulty or misdescribed.

  • Off-the-shelf goods purchased online are covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Customers have 14 days from receipt of goods to cancel for any reason. At YourSprayPaints, we extend this to 28 days as a goodwill gesture.

  • Faulty or misdescribed goods are covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015:

    • Within 30 days: right to a full refund.

    • After 30 days (up to 6 months): right to a repair or replacement, and if that fails, a refund.

  • Refunds must be processed within 14 days of receiving returned goods.

  • These rights are in addition to any warranties or guarantees we may provide.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
