Kingspan Colours
Kingspan was founded in Ireland in the late 1960s and has experienced global growth to become one of the most prominent construction brands. The business originally launched as a provider of steel framed business buildings and is now a leader in this sector. They also supply environmental products and insulated panel products. The company was listed on the Irish Stock Market in the late 1980s and they now own a number of similar businesses throughout the world, including Thyssen Krup Construction. Existing Kingspan divisions include Kingspan Energy and Access Floors.
If you’re wondering why Kingspan decided to make their own RAL colour range, the simple answer is that they don’t! What they actually do is to include a variety of RAL and BS colours in their current sales brochures to allow architects and construction design teams to choose the options preferred.
It’s quite common to hear industry professionals refer to the Kingspan Colours range, however this is a bit of a misnomer as they don’t actually manufacture or own their own colour range. The colours included within Kingspan brochures don’t encompass the entire range of RAL or BS colours, they are carefully selected by Kingspan to suit their range of building facades.
One of the main factors Kingspan feel is responsible for the dominance of their panels right across the construction sector is the fears about use of asbestos, which really came to the fore towards the end of the 20th century. Their insulated roof and wall panels can be seen on commercial, sporting and retail constructions throughout the world and offer lots of environmental benefits, as well as fire protection qualities.
The Kingspan panel range has been available in different colours since the 1980s/90s, although Kingspan only feature colours likely to prove successful for construction purposes. Architects and designers can opt for the tones which are most complimentary to planned structures.
